01 / THE MEDIUM
28 POINTS OF TOUCHA medium you can wear
Compose an experience of touch and let people feel it together. SoundShirt brings a physical layer to performance, music, sport and immersive work.
Already in the world
From the orchestra to the roar of a stadium, SoundShirt has turned live experiences into something people can feel.

The proposed kit brings together the wearable garment and the professional tools CuteCircuit uses to design and deliver haptic experiences.
Capture the orchestra, band or crowd, or take an agreed feed from the venue sound desk.
Bring the live audio channels into the Mac.
Shape the audio into a composition of touch.
Transmit the experience wirelessly to an audience.
Live capture equipment is selected for each space. Microphones, audio interface, cabling and installation are outside the proposed base kit; an authored or prerecorded experience can use a different input path. Exact kit contents and supported workflows are being defined.
The creative control
Q Pro is the Mac software at the centre of the professional setup. Work with live audio channels and direct the sensations that the audience feels through SoundShirt.
Q Pro projected during CuteCircuit’s talk at Tate Modern, 2026
The body as a canvas
28 haptic actuators integrated into soft textiles make it possible to place sensation across the torso. Rhythm, atmosphere and dramatic cues can become a language of touch.
What could you create?
A platform for people who make experiences for other people. These are starting points, not a limit on what you can imagine.

Let an audience feel the changing shape of a live score.

Translate the energy of a live event into touch.

Author sound, image and haptics as one experience.
See it in action
SoundShirt has already been experienced in live venues. Watch the Newcastle United project, then imagine the experience you would make.
A campaign in development
Two possible ways into the same SoundShirt system. We are testing the offer before setting the production target, launch price or delivery schedule.
For one artist or studio developing a haptic experience.
For an experience that more than one person can wear together.
Need to capture a live orchestra, rock show or crowd? We would specify microphones, an audio interface, cabling and the connection to the venue sound system with your technical team. This live capture setup is scoped separately from the kit concepts above.
Concept preview only. No orders or payments are being taken on this page. Kit contents, software licence, support, pricing, production goal and delivery terms are subject to confirmation.
The proposed first run
A crowdfunding launch could bring the first Creator Kits to artists and studios, and help fund a defined production run. We will set a real target only after the kit contents, costs and delivery plan are confirmed.
Our aim is to offer early supporters a better price than the later retail offer. We’ll confirm the difference when the production costs and campaign terms are ready.
Chat about the first run An expression of interest only. No pledge or payment is collected. The details
This concept is for creators building experiences for an audience. It uses the professional SoundShirt control system rather than a personal listening app.
Yes. The professional system can transmit the same live experience to multiple SoundShirts. The number included in each kit and the venue setup will be specified before launch.
The proposed kit centres on CuteCircuit Q Pro for Mac. Custom integrations and developer access would be scoped with CuteCircuit; no third-party software compatibility is promised by this preview.
A live setup needs suitable microphones or a feed from the venue sound desk, plus an audio interface to bring the channels into Q Pro on a Mac. The microphones, interface, cabling and venue installation would be specified for the space and are not included in the kit concepts shown here.
We are exploring the kit configuration, production quantity and launch price. Final contents, software terms, shipping and delivery estimates will be published before orders open.
